Mayflower Parcels Closing Escrow

  The Mayflower parcels on the east side of the Deer Valley Resort closed escrow on November 2nd. The seller is the Dutch investment group Stichting Mayflower Recreational Fonds (they have owned the property for many years), and the buyer is an affiliate of Extell Development. This update, and others yet to come, are designed to be informative as to what this transaction means to the Resort, and its guests and pass holders. Deer Valley Sale Closed

The sale of Deer Valley just closed…. Now all we need is snow Just this week, it was announced the resort’s acquisition by a newly formed entity controlled by affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, LLC and Henry Crown and Company, has closed. So, Deer Valley is now part of a portfolio of 13 resorts, plus Canadian Mountain Holidays (a heli-ski operator). Its mountain resorts are in many of North America’s major ski regions: West - Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, Snow Summit, Bear Mountain, June Mountain, Deer Valley, Steamboat and Winter Park. Park City History – Miners Hospital

Miners Hospital...this iconic building was located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort...where Shadow Ridge Hotel is now.  It served Miners and their families locally so they didn't have to make the long trek to Salt Lake City facilities...It is now a community center.  I am grateful this historic gem was preserved!

One Empire Pass

I recently attended the second planning meeting with East West Partners regarding their new building in the Empire Pass area of Deer Valley at the base of the Silver Strike lift. The official name is One Empire Pass. Here are the basics: The building will be what the developer is calling “Modern Organic” meaning there will be lots of wood, stone and glass in a more contemporary style than other buildings in the area. All of the residences will have views of Lady Morgan bowl or Empire Canyon, and they will be “see through” with no central hallways or corridors, and each have direct elevator service to the front door. Third Quarter Statistics.

The Park City Board of REALTORS® today released its report on statistics  for the third quarter of 2015.  In brief summary, sales indicate a continuing strong market, with a 12% increase in quantity sold and 10% increase in median sales price compared to the previous four quarters, with condominium sales accounting for half the closed transactions.  Year-over-year the total dollar volume was also up 20% reaching $1.85 billion. Notably, in the Single Family Home category, dollar volume in the Greater Park City area for the first nine months of this year was the highest since 2006. To see the full report, click here.
